4 Google AI Travel Hacks That Could Completely Change How You Book Your Trips ✈️

A few years ago, I wouldn't have had the headspace to properly plan a trip, let alone book one - I was too busy trying to keep up with posting every day. That changed the moment I let AI take over my content. And now, almost as a bonus, AI is doing the same thing for my travel. Google just turned AI Mode into something closer to a travel agent - tracking flight prices, pricing out your points, and helping you book the hotel - and I've been using it to plan my next trip in the pockets of time my content system frees up for me.

The same shift that gave me my time back is now giving me my trips back too.

Here are the four Google AI travel hacks I've actually been using - and why I think they could completely change how you book your trips.
Hack 1

Let AI Track Your Flight Prices 👀

Instead of checking the same flight every few days hoping the price has dropped, let AI do the checking for you. Give it your route and rough dates, and ask it to track the prices - then it can notify you when they move, instead of you refreshing a tab every morning. If you can be flexible with your dates, say so - a wider date range usually surfaces better prices than one fixed weekend.

I'm planning a trip from [origin city] to [destination city]. I want to travel sometime between [earliest date] and [latest date], staying [minimum nights] to [maximum nights]. My budget is around [budget amount] per person in [economy / premium economy / business] class for [number of travellers] traveller(s). Show me the best current flight options across all airlines and booking sites, including which days within that window tend to be cheapest to fly. Then start tracking the price on my preferred route and dates, and let me know if it drops or if a cheaper alternative shows up.
Hack 2

Price Out Your Points Before You Book With Cash 💳

If you've got airline miles or hotel points sitting in an account because using them properly feels like a part-time job, this is the hack that actually gets them out of storage. Ask AI to price a specific flight or stay in both points and cash side by side, so you're comparing like for like instead of guessing.

I have [number] points or miles with [loyalty program, e.g. American Airlines AAdvantage / Marriott Bonvoy]. I want to fly or stay from [origin] to [destination] around [date range]. Show me what this specific flight or hotel stay would cost in points through [loyalty program], compared to the cash price across other airlines, hotels or booking sites. Work out the cents-per-point value of redeeming my points on this booking, and tell me honestly whether I'm better off using points or paying cash - assuming I'd rather save my points for a redemption worth more than [target value, e.g. 1.5 cents] per point.
Rule of Thumb
As a rough rule of thumb: if a redemption values your points below about 1 cent each, cash is usually the smarter call.
Hack 3

Let AI Shortlist (And Help You Book) Your Hotel 🏨

Give it your dates, budget, preferred area and non-negotiables, and let it narrow hundreds of options down to a handful that actually fit. It can compare pricing, location and reviews, so you're choosing between five good options instead of scrolling fifty average ones.

Find me a [hotel type, e.g. boutique / family-friendly / luxury / budget] hotel in [destination] for [number] nights starting [check-in date]. My budget is under [amount] per night. It needs to be within [walking distance / X minutes] of [landmark or area], with [must-have amenities, e.g. pool, breakfast included, gym], and rated at least [X] stars with strong recent reviews. Compare at least 5 options with pricing, exact location and a summary of what reviewers love or complain about, and flag which ones offer free cancellation.
Important Note
Before you confirm anything, double-check the cancellation policy and any extra fees yourself - AI can shortlist beautifully, but you still want eyes on the fine print.
Hack 4

Build Your Entire Itinerary In Seconds 🗺️

Once flights and the hotel are sorted, hand AI your dates, your interests and your neighbourhood, and ask for a day-by-day plan. Then keep refining it - ask it to work around opening hours, travel time between areas, or things you've already booked.

Build me a [number]-day itinerary for [destination], starting [date]. I'm staying in [neighbourhood or hotel name]. My interests are [list interests, e.g. great food, local coffee shops, vintage stores, art], and my budget per day is around [amount]. Group activities by area so I'm not backtracking across the city, work around [opening hours / reservations I've already made], and leave [mornings / afternoons / evenings] open for [rest / spontaneity]. Here's a list of specific spots I've already saved: [paste your list] - slot these in wherever they fit best.
Bonus Tip
Bonus: keep feeding it new saves as you find them and ask it to re-optimise the route each time.
Real Talk

AI didn't just free up my time. It's now spending it for me - on a trip.

This is the part I keep coming back to. The same automation that runs my content is the reason I have the time to actually plan a trip, and now AI is handling the planning too. That's not a coincidence - it's the whole point of building systems into your business. Free up the hours first. Then let AI help you spend them somewhere better than your desk.
